How progressive pricing works
Repeat repairs on the same vehicle cost less — here’s the ladder, and how to change it.
The ladder
RS Systems remembers how many repairs each vehicle has had, and each one steps down a price ladder — out of the box that's $50 → $40 → $35 → $30 → $25, then it stays at the bottom rung. First chip on a windshield costs $50; the third chip on that same windshield costs $35. It happens automatically on every job — no mental math in the field.
Why shops price this way
Fleet managers love it: the more they bring you, the better each repair gets. It rewards the customer who hands you the whole windshield instead of shopping each chip around — and it's a selling point you can say out loud.
Make the ladder yours — or turn it off
In Settings → Pricing & Invoicing you can set your own numbers for each rung, or switch progressive pricing off entirely and charge one flat price per repair. Both are honest ways to run a shop; pick the one that matches how you quote.
Multi-break visits ride the same ladder
Three chips in one visit? Log them together and each break is priced as the next rung — the vehicle's history plus break one, break two, break three. One session, one ticket, correct price on every line.

A fleet with negotiated rates can have its own pricing on its customer page, and managers can type a custom price on any single job when the situation calls for it. The ladder is the default, never a cage.
