Some shops charge sales tax, some don't — both are fine. Until you answer, a banner reminds you and invoices go out with no tax. Set it in Settings → Pricing & Invoicing: flip tax on and enter your rate, or tell us you don't charge it and the banner goes away.
Then it's automatic
With tax on, every job calculates it for you and invoices show the line item. No per-job math, ever.
Exceptions are one checkbox
Tax-exempt customer (government fleet, reseller)? Mark them exempt on their customer page and their jobs skip tax automatically. One-off situation? Untick Charge sales tax right on the job form.
